Modern diagnostics – simple, safe, and scientifically guided
A precise diagnosis is the foundation of every effective treatment. With the so-called liquid biopsy – a blood test that analyzes tiny fragments of genetic material (cfDNA) – it is often possible to avoid or complement tissue biopsies.
The procedure is gentle, fast, and informative: From just a few milliliters of blood, disease-relevant genetic alterations can be detected that help physicians make diagnostic and therapeutic decisions.
How does a liquid biopsy work?
- Blood sample
Your blood sample is collected in your treating practice or clinic and sent to our partner laboratory. - Laboratory analysis
The analysis is performed at the Munich Biomarker Research Center, TUM University Hospital German Heart Center, our laboratory partner with long-standing expertise in molecular diagnostics. Here, circulating DNA (cfDNA) is examined to identify disease-relevant genetic changes. - Results
The results are sent to your physician, who will discuss them with you personally.
Why CEBIO?
CEBIO coordinates the collaboration between physicians, laboratories, and research partners with the aim of making diagnostics safer, more transparent, and forward-looking.
Our work follows scientifically documented processes and is supported by the expertise of our partners in laboratory analysis, statistical evaluation, and method validation. The result: clinically meaningful and scientifically traceable diagnostics – with the highest standards of data protection and quality.

Research – your contribution matters
If you wish, you can consent to have your blood sample anonymized and also used for research purposes. In doing so, you help to further develop and validate new diagnostic procedures.
Diese Entscheidung ist freiwillig, hat keinen Einfluss auf Ihre Behandlung und erfolgt ausschließlich nach schriftlicher Einwilligung.
Costs and reimbursement
Currently, liquid biopsy tests are not generally reimbursed by health insurance in Germany. In certain cases (e.g., clinical studies or individual approval), cost coverage may be possible, but usually the test is a self-pay service.
Please discuss reimbursement details directly with your treating physician.
